National Women of Achievement, Inc. is a professional 501(c)3, non-profit organization dedicated to community service. The heart of our work is encouraging youth leadership, service to the elderly, political awareness, and honoring the status of women.

Membership provides leadership enhancement, friendships that will last a lifetime, opportunities to motivate, nurture and honor youth, and the opportunity to make this world a better place in which to live. It is our desire to invite outstanding women of all ages who are looking for opportunities to contribute, learn and become potential leaders in our organization.

The organization was founded in February 1975 by a grand and noble woman, Madame Maudest Walls Stewart, of Houston, Texas. She had a long time dream of a legacy for tremendous opportunities for women to make outstanding contributions to the welfare of one another, our youth, and our country. Based on this premise, she shared her dream with a group of seven women who had achieved in various fields.

On February 7, 1975, according to the minutes of the first meeting, these women and the Founder began a movement of thinking, planning, and growing. Achiever Maudest Walls Stewart was the first National President, nurturing and rejoicing in the fulfillment of her dream. She was a dedicated supporter and worker in the programs of the organization.

Eventually, as more chapters were chartered, the country was divided into regions, The South Central Region was formed in 1985. This region is comprised of six states – Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

After more than forty years of service, National Women of Achievement, Inc. has set itself apart in excellence in service and developing youth for leadership. Together, hand in hand, and side by side, we will continue to build upon the already great achievements of this great and historic region.
